Este estudo tenciona criar dingbats representativos da memória gráfica da cidade de Olinda, incluindo elementos da história, tradição, cultura e cotidiano. O objetivo é que estas faces representem elementos além da visão esteriotipada da cidade, incluindo o olhar do morador e de suas vivências. A partir de uma pesquisa de referências, que incluiu desde projetos semelhantes, a questionários e registros fotográficos, foram definidos três recortes temáticos principais para a composição dos alfabetos: (1) Atrações Turísticas e Marcos Arquitetônicos, (2) Cotidiano e (3) Carnaval.</p><p class="IDpaper-Abstract"><strong>*****</strong></p><p><em>This article presents the research of references and thematic clipping realized within the project of extension "Faces of Olinda: a graphic representation of the iconography of the city" of IFPE (Olinda Campus). This study intends to create dingbats representative of the graphic memory of the city of Olinda, including elements of history, tradition, culture and daily life. The objective is that these faces represent not only the stereotyped vision of the city as the tourist attractions but also the look of the resident and his experiences.
