Its objective was to propose guidelines for the development of teaching materials aimed at students with ADHD in the initial grades of elementary school. The study has an analytical nature and it was based on qualitative data obtained from a semi-structured interview with a psychopedagogue, a specialist in teaching and learning of children with neurodevelopmental and learning disorders. Data collection also involved the analysis of tests questions applied to a 7-year-old child with ADHD, a second-year elementary school student. The sample brought together 9 questions taken from school tests. Based on the information obtained, content analysis was conducted, crossing it with the adopted theoretical framework, which brought together the areas of Education and Design. The results include: the identification of characteristics of the analyzes teaching materials that do not contribute to the understanding of the content by children with ADHD; proposition of ten guidelines to the visual structuring of teaching materials that help directing students’ attentional focus. The study also identified opportunities for further research in the area.
2024-10-18T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2024 Fernanda Pozza da Costa, Ricardo Triska, Giselle Schmidt Alves Díaz Merinohttps://infodesign.org.br/infodesign/article/view/1158The different types of tactile maps for orientation and mobility: a reflection2024-09-04T07:23:31-03:00Ana Paula Geraldo Coutinhoanacoutinho.arq@gmail.comIsabela Guesser Schmittisagschmitt@gmail.comVanessa Casarinvanessa.casarin@ufsc.brLizandra Garcia Lupi Vergaral.vergara@ufsc.br
Tactile maps for orientation and mobility play a valuable role in enabling individuals with visual impairments to have improved mobility autonomy. Considering the importance of these maps, this article seeks to identify the different typologies of tactile maps used in buildings and public open spaces in Brazil. To obtain this objective, the method of surveying and cataloging images indexed in the Google Images database. The data were treated through thematic analysis and content analysis. From the data, it was possible to relate the use of different typologies of maps in environments with differentiated uses. The results show that in public spaces that offer specific services, such as public transport terminals, simplified tactile maps represented by tactile routes are most commonly used. Tactile maps represented by floor plans are the most used in cultural or contemplative spaces, with museums and squares.
2024-10-15T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2024 Ana Paula Geraldo Coutinho, Isabela Guesser Schmitt, Vanessa Casarin, Lizandra Garcia Lupi Vergarahttps://infodesign.org.br/infodesign/article/view/1176Information design challenges for digital inclusion of older adults from the perspective of health literacy: a scoping review2024-08-31T07:45:30-03:00Thaís Branquinho Oliveira Fragellithaisfragelli@unb.brJunior Arthur Campêlo de Oliveiraarthurcampelodeoliveira@gmail.comVitor Pedra Machado vitorpedra96@gmail.comKerolyn Ramos Garcia kerolynramos@gmail.comLeonardo Costa Pereira leonardo.pcllcp@gmail.comMargô Gomes de Oliveira Karnikowski margounb@gmail.comCamila Alves Areda caareda@gmail.com
With the increasing access to digital resources, the use of these for monitoring and self-managing health conditions can be promising. The aim of this study was to identify the kinds of literacy needed for elderly people to use healthcare applications. A scoping review was conducted, guided by the JBI Evidence Synthesis methodology, and the PRISMA-ScR was used. Nineteen studies were selected, ranging from 2014 to 2024, divided into the categories of computer literacy, information literacy, media literacy, and health literacy. During the workshop, interaction with the software took place in a participatory manner by performing five tasks. After completing all activities, the Focus Group technique was applied to all participants to obtain feedback on the platform interface in terms of the quality of interaction from the perspective of User Experience. The results indicate that a positive evaluation prevails after interacting with Runway, with an emphasis on responses related to the qualities inherent to the software, as well as the evaluation of usability.
2024-10-15T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2024 José Guilherme Santa Rosa, Isis Tatiane de Barros Macêdo Veloso, Gustavo André Falcão Peixoto, Diego Ygor Silva e Santos, João Pedro Morais Guedeshttps://infodesign.org.br/infodesign/article/view/1161Origins of information visualization in corporate bullet points: an archaeology of the graphic configuration paradigm in data visualizations (1979–1995)2024-08-07T14:08:45-03:00Guilherme Ranoyaranoya@gmail.comRafael de Castro Andradeancara@gmail.com
The present work seeks to highlight the origin of the current paradigm of data visualization design and the logic of creating charts and presentations, which emerged with the personal computer revolution. The initial digital tools developed for producing corporate communication artifacts were crucial in establishing the reasoning and production flow of visualizations up to the present day. Knowing beforehand that the origin of data visualization predates personal computing by centuries, it’s surprising that it is now entirely subject to models and guidelines originating from computer sciences. Through an investigation conducted with an archaeological method adapted to design artifacts, it is possible to understand the discontinuity and abrupt transformations experienced in the conventions and values of this practice. Through this methodological approach, along with the analysis of the productive mindset discourse and the available tools in this specific period, it becomes possible to explain the changes that aparted the craft of visualization artifacts from the domain of art and/or design, subjecting them to corporate sphere empowered by emerging arsenal of information technologies.
2024-10-18T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2024 Guilherme Ranoya, Rafael de Castro Andradehttps://infodesign.org.br/infodesign/article/view/1143Data visualization for the promotion of women’s rights: an analysis of the charts from the Woman Violence and Femicide Observatory2024-04-05T15:08:26-03:00Helena Callaça Gadioli Faragehelenacgfarage@gmail.comDara Costa Rattesdaracrattes@gmail.comLourdes Yamila Quintero Rojaslourdesyamila@gmail.comVirgínia Tiradentes Soutov.tiradentes@gmail.comTiago Barros Pontes e Silvatiagobps@gmail.com
Data visualization tools can be powerful allies in promoting public policies for women. To this end, an analytical tool was created using analytical-critical parameters based on a literature review. Based on this assessment, ways to improve the Observatory’s graphs are discussed from the perspective of data humanism. The research took a mixed and exploratory approach, based on a case of study, following the procedures of Lima (2012) and the assumptions of ISO ABNT NBR 9241-171. As results, the research, in general terms, indicated some usability problems which hinder the autonomy and involvement of this audience, such as: interfaces overloaded with text, excessive dependence on visual resources to transmit information, insufficient feedback in interactions, among others. Based on the observed experiences, it was found that collaborative practises such as urban interventions are not common, but they enabled the participation of people of different ages and backgrounds. The participants felt connected to the topic, understood the steps to follow and collaborated not only in the creation of a data visualisation but also in the reflection and interpretation of the information collected.
